How emissivity.org handles your data.
Emissivity.org is a static website. We do not use cookies or tracking pixels, and no user accounts are required to browse the site or access EKHI data.
We use GoatCounter, an open-source, privacy-respecting analytics service, to count page visits. GoatCounter sets no cookies and stores no personal data: the visited URL, referrer, browser type, screen size, and country are recorded; IP addresses are hashed with a daily-rotating salt and discarded, used only to distinguish unique visits within a single day. The Do-Not-Track browser setting is honoured. Under the GDPR and ePrivacy rules this requires no consent banner — which is why you do not see one.
When you contribute spectral data to EKHI, we collect the metadata you provide (material description, measurement conditions, author names, publication reference). This information is published openly under CC-BY 4.0 as part of the EKHI database. Contributors retain authorship and can request withdrawal within 14 days of publication.
If you contact us through the website, we process your message and email address solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not share this information with third parties.
This site is hosted on Netlify. Netlify may collect server logs including IP addresses as part of standard web hosting. See Netlify's privacy policy for details.
