Good Practice Guide on Emissivity Conversion Published

The Good practice guide on the conversion of near-normal directional emissivity into hemispherical emissivity with a target uncertainty below 5 % (2.5–50 µm) has been published by the PaRaMetriC consortium (EPM project 21GRD03; PTB, CAE, RISE, FIW München, LNE, INRIM; 11 authors including J. Manara and C. Monte). It was released on Zenodo on 30 September 2025.

This guide addresses one of the most common practical challenges in emissivity measurement: how to reliably convert near-normal directional emissivity into hemispherical emissivity, with a target uncertainty below 5 % over the 2.5–50 µm range.

The guide is freely available on Zenodo and represents an important step toward standardized practices in our field.
