Good Practice Guide on Emissivity Conversion Published

A Good Practice Guide on the conversion of near-normal directional emissivity into hemispherical emissivity has been published by Manara, Monte, and collaborators from PTB.

This guide addresses one of the most common practical challenges in emissivity measurement: how to reliably convert between directional and hemispherical quantities. The document provides:

• Theoretical background on the relationship between directional and hemispherical emissivity
• Practical conversion procedures with worked examples
• Uncertainty analysis guidance
• Recommended best practices for reporting

The guide is freely available on Zenodo and represents an important step toward standardized practices in our field.
